About Me

Hi.

I came to yoga & meditation in 2015 as a way to alleviate stress and combat chronic muscle tension. What began as a physical practice transformed into a new way to relate to myself and the world around me.

In 2020 I wanted to deepen my practice and completed a 200 hr yoga teacher training program with Yoga Punx PDX, and have been a dedicated student of Yoga ever since.

I love sharing what I’ve learned on my journey with others by creating safe spaces for people to connect with their bodies using yoga asana (postures), vinyasa (movement) and pranayama (breath work), with a focus on mobility and accessibility to suit all levels of practitioner.

In addition to teaching, I work as a freelance graphic designer. My most recent project is layout design for my teacher David Garrigues’ latest book, Ashtanga Yoga Vinyasa, merging my graphic design skills and passion for yoga into one project. When I am not working, I am spending time with my family, making art and staying active.

My Teachers

  • Sandee Lawless

    Founder, Yoga Punx PDX

Sandee firmly believes it is never too late to start a yoga practice. Although she came to the yoga mat at various times in her life, it didn’t resonate with her until her mid 40s, when she came to heal from emotional, spiritual and physical pain. As she physically healed, she found unexpected gifts of love, resilience, patience and acceptance. She learned she was no longer a victim; she was a survivor. With this conviction, Sandee set upon a path of liberation for the collective.

  • David Garrigues

Since 1991, David has maintained an enthusiastic daily personal practice that is dedicated to Āsana and Prāṇāyāma study in the Ashtanga tradition. His intense commitment to practice and to teaching inspires his students who form a diverse, soulful, open-hearted, and serious global learning community.

David's mission is to help students of yoga flourish within the living, contemporary lineage of Ashtanga Yoga. He aims to be part of the circle of Haṭha Yoga lovers who are devoted to applying the teachings of Ashtanga Yoga in ways that promote physical, psychological, and spiritual growth in themselves and others.
